The word “Illahe” comes from the Chinook Jargon for “earth” or “land,” a fitting name for a winery that crafts wines rooted in place but made for everyday enjoyment. The 2023 Illahe Chardonnay is a vibrant, modern expression of Oregon winemaking. It's crisp, smooth, and endlessly drinkable. Fermented primarily in stainless steel with just a few oak puncheons for texture, it avoided malolactic fermentation to preserve its natural acidity and brightness. The result is a wine that feels fresh and balanced, with clean minerality and a silky mouthfeel, making it great for a dinner party or just a casual Tuesday sipper.
